Terms of Use
Second Player Studios · Last updated: 15 October 2026
The short version: you buy the game once and it is yours to play, on your own devices, for as long as you like. Please don't copy it, resell it or pass it off as your own. Videos and streams are welcome.
Who we are and what this covers
These terms apply to the games Necromangler and Critterton (the "games") and to this website, all made by Second Player Studios ("we", "us"). By installing or playing a game, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the games.
Buying a game
Our games are sold through app stores such as Google Play and the App Store. The store handles your purchase, payment and any refund under its own terms:
- If you bought a game on Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.
- If you bought a game on the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
Where the store's terms and these terms differ, the store's terms apply to the purchase itself. Refunds are handled by the store; see our support page for how to ask.
Your licence to play
When you buy a game, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and play it for your own non-commercial use, on the devices the store allows for your account. The games, including their code, art, music, characters and names, remain owned by Second Player Studios. You are buying a licence to play, not the game itself.
What you may not do
- Copy, share, sell, rent or otherwise distribute the games or any part of them.
- Modify, decompile or reverse engineer the games, except where the law expressly allows it.
- Remove or change any copyright, trademark or other notice in the games.
- Use the games, their art or their names to make something that could be mistaken for an official Second Player Studios product.
Videos, streams and screenshots
You are welcome to stream, record and share videos and screenshots of our games, and to earn money from those videos and streams through the platforms you publish on. You don't need to ask. We just ask that you name the game, and that you don't present our art or music on its own as something you made.
Levels you share in Critterton
Critterton's level maker turns a level into a short code that you can share however you like. These codes never pass through our servers (we have none), so what you share, and with whom, is up to you.
Updates
We may update a game to fix problems, improve it or keep it working on new devices. Our games work offline and do not depend on any server of ours, so the version you have keeps working even if you never update. We can't promise that every feature will stay exactly the same forever, or that a game will remain on sale in every store.
Your progress
Your save data lives only on your device. We have no copy and cannot restore it. Uninstalling a game, clearing its data or losing your device can delete your progress permanently.
No warranty
We make our games with care, but they are provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that a game will be free of bugs or will work on every device.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of a game, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for that game.
Nothing in these terms takes away any rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live, which cannot be excluded by agreement.
This website
The text, images and logos on this website belong to Second Player Studios. You may link to it and share screenshots of it, but please don't copy it wholesale or use our logo in a way that suggests we endorse something we don't.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will post the new version here with a new date. Changes apply from that date; if you keep playing after it, the updated terms apply to you.
